China issued guidelines to regulate Chinese automakers' overseas competitive practices and strengthen corporate compliance on September 1.
The circular contains guidelines encouraging Chinese automotive firms to promote orderly international development, standardize overseas competition practices and strengthen compliance development.
The document, comprising 20 clauses in four chapters, covers overseas pricing tactics, dealer governance, marketing campaigns, production safety, labor protection and cross-border data compliance. It urges enterprises to avoid disorderly price competition and respect local laws and commercial norms in host economies.
Amid China's booming automobile exports, experts said the guidelines will help improve Chinese auto enterprises' transnational compliance capacity and support their sustainable global expansion and win-win global cooperation.
Leading Chinese auto exporters, such as BYD and Chery, said they will improve their overseas practices and operational systems based on the guidelines.
