Pandemic Burnout

NewsChina, Chinese Edition August 12, 2021

By NewsChina Updated Oct.1

Alongside rapidly mutating Covid-19 viruses, particularly more fatal variants like Delta and Lamda, the international community faces a common problem: pandemic burnout. People are increasingly paying little attention to the deadly disease. The new outbreak in Nanjing, East China’s Jiangsu Province has affected a growing number of cities across the country after airport management took a casual attitude toward quarantine measures. As the Delta variant is rapidly sweep- ing the globe, it is not an ideal time to relax vigilance. Sooner or later, China will adjust its policies, moving from administrative instructions to medical measures. Nowadays, it remains basic policy to prevent the coronavirus from re-entering the country to cause a new outbreak. While the Delta variant is causing a resurgence of the pandemic around the world, it is high time for countries to jointly fight their common enemy.
