By Zhang Qingchen Updated Aug.24

China is inviting researchers from around the country to collaborate in experiments on its planned space station.

Scientific institutions, universities and technological enterprises  can submit proposals online for review by the China Manned Space Agency. The offer ends August 31.

Previously, astronauts conducted most space experiments. However, some projects require specialized scientists, which makes this offer a valuable opportunity for tech-based industries, read an article in the Guangzhou Daily.

The offer not only promotes research but also helps to better engage the public – particularly young people - about scientific endeavors in space, the article read.

In June, China Manned Space Agency and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs jointly announced in Vienna, Austria that nine scientific projects from 17 countries had been selected to be conducted on-board China Space Station which is expected to be in operation in around 2022.
