What’s Making China Angry?
The party secretary of the hospital later explained that doctors were not supposed to leave their offices during work hours
Staff at the Red Cross Hospital in Hefei, Anhui Province, refused to come to the aid of an elderly man who fell 20 meters away from the hospital’s main door on October 11. The man eventually died due to a lack of timely treatment. Passersby reported the emergency to the hospital, but staff did nothing. The party secretary of the hospital later explained that doctors were not supposed to leave their offices during work hours. The old man was taken by ambulance to another hospital half an hour after the accident, but it was too late. Records later revealed that the man was an inpatient of the Red Cross Hospital.
